More naked lobbying in the Tom DeLay residency lawsuit circus...

UPDATE: Amicus Lunacy Part Deux

Greg Abbott with his sidekick, The Ten Commandments

So Attorney General Greg Abbott will also petition the Fifth Circuit. At least he will do so using a legal document, unlike Jared Woodfill...

Democratic super-lawyer Chad Dunn summed it up best: "It's going to be interesting if the attorney general files a brief with the 5th Circuit saying, 'We encourage candidates to manipulate the election law."

Secretary of State Roger Williams initially filed a brief with Sparks' court outlining the time line for when the Republican Party could replace DeLay, but he did not take a position on which way the court should rule. So why is Greg Abbott using his office to help the GOP avoid the mess DeLay made? Why is the AG writing that Tom DeLay should be allowed to manipulate the law and parties should be allowed to switch out an unpopular candidate in the middle of a race? Why is Abbott is cow-towing to lawlessness and electoral chaos?

I bet you David Van Os could tell you why....

ANOTHER UPDATE: Amicus Lunacy Part The Third

David cuts a ribbon for some happy rich folks

Well, now Tom DeLay isn't the only CD22 candidate paying for legal expenses with campaign contributions. Sugar Land Mayor and nominee wannabe David Wallace has hired a law firm to file an amicus brief, and has paid them $10,000 to "research 200 year old documents" to determine "the framer's intent" on whether he gets to pretend to be a serious candidate with no ethical problems. That's $50 per year!

I can't wait to see the final product, especially since as we all know, the Wallace campaign employs the eloquent skills of the Microsoft Paperclip.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't one have to have a law degree to be the attorney general? And pass the Texas bar exam? One would think that possessing those two attributes would have provided the intellectual ability to actually read a court decision and comprehend it. Silly me.

Attorney General, Greg Abbott's antics have poured over into the Child Support Division as well. A friend and former employee of the agency has validated all that I've suspected - the agency is a sham.

Did you know they close child support cases so they dont have to inlcude the figures in their overall performance? Skewing figures? Hmmmm. . . . sounds like another ENRON folks.

And in response to her resignation and whistle blowing efforts made directly to Abbott himself - his only response, a "form letter," ..we regret you were unahppy in your job...

Read the stories for yourself; www.petitiononline.com type: Texas OAG. You're welcome to sign the petition and post your comments if you are just as outraged at what parents must go through to try to get the OAG to enforce a court order. Get your tissues, cuz it ain't pretty.
