Proof positive that at least one person in the Fort Bend Republican Party can use Adobe products: Jeff Council has a new online ad. Apparently in response to Neeta's ad on Fort Bend Now, Council posted his own sidebar pitch:

I felt the original lacked a certain je ne sais quois, so I helpfully edited the ad to more properly reflect the nuances of this candidate:

In Contracts II, I sit next to a local Republican. He moved into Richmond a couple years back, and he's getting active in the party. He told me we would be putting out signs today for Shelley Sekula Gibbs. He was only vaguely aware of any other candidates: He has heard of Bud Childers, but got his name wrong. So here we are, a month and a half from E-Day, and even the GOP activists don't know squat about the GOP nominees.

I'll admit it's a smart campaign strategy for flawed candidates. It's best to fly under the radar. An informed comparison does not benefit local Republicans. Nonetheless, it's time to have these discussions.

Local media, I'm looking in your direction...

Your tu ne sais quois gives Jeffrey a little too much credit. He didn't work at a ton of banks, he just sat on their committees. These committee memberships are given to good ole boys to pad their resume and make them look more important than they really are.

Interesting that he didn't credit himself as Vice President of the Fort Bend County Flood Control Water Supply Corporation. The one he had been a member of for 18 years. The one that county commissioners used for their Big Creek Flood Control project that ended this year. The one that has freed up thousands of Precinct 1 Republican-owned agricultural acreage to be developed, now that the area is not prone to flooding.

That one. He should be justly proud of that accomplishment.
